Nikos Kourtidis is the 2006 European Jr. Weightlifting Champion in the 105 kgs division.  He is a former 3-time European Youth Champion.  At the 2006 World Championships, battling an injury, he finished 7th overall at 94 kgs.

Nikos has been described as the premier young weightlifting talent in Greece today.  He was born in Kavala, Greece after his ethnic Greek parents emigrated from Georgia.

Following the 2006 season, Nikos moved up to 105 kgs from his customary 94 kgs division.
